Pinewood Studios developer to speak at luncheon

Jim I. Pace Jr., lead developer of Pinewood Atlanta Studio, will speak at the Business and Community Leaders Luncheon at noon May 22 at Del'avant in downtown LaGrange.

Pinewood Studios Group is one of the leading providers of services to the worldwide film and television industries. Its British studio has an impressive heritage and has been home to some such film franchises as James Bond, Star Wars, Superman, Batman and Harry Potter.

Pinewood Atlanta is a full-service film and entertainment studio complex comprised of five sound stages on 288 acres in Fayetteville. The project will produce film, television, music and video games.

Pace has a diverse business background that spans more than 35 years. Before co-founding Group VI in 1989, he managed operating units of both Westinghouse Electric Corp. and Cooper Industries. His experience includes management positions in accounting, financial planning, operations, customer service, sales and marketing.

He earned a degree in business administration at Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss.

Pace also is very involved with community activities, including leadership roles with Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, Peachtree City (Ga.) City Council, Young Life of Fayette County, Boy Scouts of America, Regional Business Coalition, Metro Atlanta Quality Growth Task Force, Southside Church, Clayton State University and Landmark Christian School.

The annual luncheon, hosted by the Leadership Council of LaGrange College, features talks by prominent business innovators and leaders.

“This is our way to give back to the leaders in the community by bringing in top-notch speakers to LaGrange,” said Rebecca Roth, Senior Director of Development.  “We want to highlight LaGrange College as an important member of the local business community."

Roth said the institution has a strong educational, economic, demographic and cultural impact on the community.

“Not only is LaGrange College committed to transforming the lives of our students, we also want to make a difference in our community," she said. "There is so much we can accomplish – together."

Reservations for the luncheon are required and may be made online at by May 19. One representative from a business or organization will be the college's guest. Additional registrations are $10 per person. Corporate tables are available upon request.
